Set a default welcome message for your Chatbot’s first speech bubble, unless an AI Form replaces it.

WHAT IT DOES

1. Greeting is the Welcome Message

  • The Greeting is the Chatbot’s initial message whenever a user opens or resets the chat.

2. Greeting establishes the Chatbot’s persona

  • It can establish the Chatbot’s persona (e.g., “Cari”) and encourage immediate user engagement.

3. AI Form's override the Greeting

  • If you have an AI Form set to trigger first, that form's first question overrides the Greeting.

EXAMPLES

  • Basic: “Hi, I’m Cari! How can I help you today?”
  • Branded: “Hello! I’m Cari, ready to shop? Let me know what you’re looking for.”

BEST PRACTICES

1. Keep It Brief

  • One or two lines is enough—avoid overwhelming the user before they even ask a question.

2. Show Personality

  • Include your Chatbot’s name or brand identity, e.g., “Hi, I’m Cari, your personal shopper!”

3. Immediate Clarity

  • Let users know what you can do—e.g., “I can answer questions, suggest products, or look up your order details.”
