PLAY BEFORE YOU PAY

Implementing AI as part of a business strategy is nothing new to MOBLE. Way back in 2017 MOBLE executed our first iterations of AI, when MOBLE AI was used to improve sales conversions with the first release of Play Before You Pay, our customers signup onboarding funnel, where customer started to build a website before they sign up.

During sales presentations, our sales guys would drop a prospective clients logo on to an onboarding Form. Clients would watch as MOBLE AI would extract colours from from the logo and  spin up a new website in clients branding. The client could swap themes in their branding, then customise by dropping layout on to a canvas and watch our bots would transform it to their styles.

Needless to say our sales conversions went up, and today MOBLE AI remains a key part of our sales onboarding process, that we still call Play Before You Pay. The idea was to create an unbelievable client experience that would remove to latency of a free trail period and empower customers to make a purchase decision in the exact moment when buying endorphins were flowing.

In this strategy, we would impress the clients enough with a demo, that they would want to pay instantly, rather than making them work through a free trail, which typically hinders and slows a sales cycle.

It goes without saying that AI as come along way in the last 6 years and so has MOBLE AI. 

Here we take a look at what MOBLE AI can do now and what is coming in the forthcoming releases of MOBLE 3.0, but first let's move on to MOBLE 2.0.

MOBLE 2.0

BOT ASSISTED DESIGN

In July 2022, AI was starting to get serious. To prepare for our offering MOBLE started our dedicated AI Research and Development arm of the business.

Our North Star vision for AI, was to replace the logo drop feature of the client onboarding and let clients build websites with voice commands and napkin sketchers. Essentially taking the interface off the screen, without a mouse or a trackpad. By pursuing this challenge as part of our R&D we were confident that other use cases would present themselves.

At the time, we had an inkling of where generative AI models were heading and started our preparations.  The first step was to conduct extensive testing and rebuilding of our Layouts and Themes. We decided to build bots based on MOBLE's 5 Frames Methodology, a tried an tested method that ensures every team member in the Agency builds pages in exactly the same structure, in the cleanest and most flexible markup. We build bots that could able preference to this struture mean that any layout on a MOBLE web page could be instantly updated to a clients preferences. The most obvious example would be to ensure all padding and alignment would remain consistent as client dragged and dropped design layouts from other themes and websites on to their own canvas. We were satisfied that building bots to this structure, would be the first logical step in being able to train AI to build website pages, that a client could go own to customise with a Website Builder and CMS.

As a consequence, MOBLE 2.0, released in 2022, saw the introduction of Bot Assisted Design.

Bot Assisted Design features of MOBLE 2.0 included:

• Onboarding: Play Before You Pay was originally designed for the sales team to generate new websites in sales presentations. A theme would be styled in a customers brand, simply by dropping a logo on to a page. Our AI would extra colours from the logo and styles a theme. Customer could then drag and drop more layouts in the presentation and watch as the Layouts would be turned into their brand. In MOBLE.2.0, Fonts and Images we added to the onboarding. Customers could flip between Dark and Light modes and ever change their header or add a shop to tailor a branded website theme before the Paywall, after which they would access the platform to customise everything.
  
• Colours: Pick colours from a logo, and sync it to a theme. Generate new essential colours to build out the colour palette.
• Font: Sync a Font Pairing around the entire site. Sync Line Height and Letter spacing presets to give even the same front selections and completely different feel.
• Layouts: In addition to 5,000 Layouts and Themes. Clients save their own custom branded Layouts. Bots will update the Layouts drawer to ensure it follows the clients brand and style preferences.
• Images: Replace a collection of images around the entire theme.
• Padding and Alignment: Update a themes Padding and Alignment to give even the same Layouts a refreshed look and feel.
